People

On my way to work, there was a woman waiting to cross the street at a crosswalk on a street without a stop sign. I did my duty and stopped for her (which, by the way, is what you are supposed to do), but the oncoming traffic was still plowing through and then two cars behind me decided I was in the way and drove around me to pass. What the hecks, dudes? Are people really that blind or inconsiderate/dangerous? Yes, I did honk at these cars and get upset about it. No, it did not matter.

I went to see The Fault in Our Stars by myself last weekend. Yes, there were tears. Unfortunately, a stranger sat right next to me with a chatty group of friends, so it was kind of hard to focus on the movie or react properly to it, ie. crying with no regard.

One more week until Paris! My mom is already packing up toiletries, and looking at the weather reports, we decided we won't be needing to pack any shorts for hot weather. 65-80 degrees, presumably! I'm going to pick up my brother this weekend, and he will be staying at our house taking care of our kitties and drive us to and from the airport. Meanwhile, after my first excursion to the dentist in three years, I needed a lot of work done, and so with a new temporary crown I am forbidden to eat sticky or hard things until I get my permanent crown when I get back from vacation. Consequentially, I am limited by what I can consume in Paris and London. Sad face. However, good things on the horizon: I am going to be getting Invisalign! Pretty excited about that, although I think that will be a while. I haven't taken the special x-rays to send to Invisalign yet, and won't until I get my permanent crown in.

It seems like a lot of people at work are leaving this month for one reason or another. One is moving away and four are graduating. For the one that is moving away, we intend to go out for Chinese at lunch time as a farewell meal together. I don't usually go out to places with coworkers, but I figured I probably should in this case. For the other four, cake and ice cream will be served just after we get back from lunch. One of the people leaving this week is Dr Perfect--this is a mixed blessing. I probably won't manage to get it, but I want a picture of him before he goes, because I'm a total creeper.

Very Important Survey

Tell a truth. Now.
- When I wake up in the morning and open my bedroom door, my cat comes in to check my nightstand for a stray hair tie to run off with while I'm in the restroom.

How do you take your tea/coffee?
- I chuck a packet of hot cocoa into my coffee for an instant mocha. BAM. Adding a little almond joy creamer makes it a little extra special.

Order a pizza just for you.
- Half bacon (not Canadian bacon, get the real shit) and pineapple, half BBQ chicken.

What's the last thing you put in your mouth?
- Homemade strawberry and banana smoothie. Unfortunately, it may have been too much fructose because I feel a bit queezy. Booo...

What kind of music do you listen to?
- 90s-10s Alternative, sometimes indie stuff or singer/songwriter.

- 90s-00s Alternative, 00s punk rock, 00s hard rock.

- Eh, at the moment I'm fine with it. I don't feel lonely and I'm happy as a clam.

Do you have a quirk?
- People freak out when I pop my jaw around them.

What was the last dream you remember?
- Pretty sure it had something to do with Dr Perfect. c:

What were you doing at 10:30 pm last night?

Is there anything you don't know how to do that you'd like to learn?

Any (un)hidden talents?
- I'm fairly artistic and smart! I type wicked fast having grown up at the computer. I make friendship bracelets, draw, and take photos like a boss. I used to be a pretty awesome swimmer, too, before we had to quit our membership at the swim club since it was too expensive. And I used to run really fast. Now I'm just kind of weak and bloated, haha.

What do you totally suck at?
- Basketball and public speaking.

- Landed a cush job as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist
- Totally won third place at my university's First Annual Integration Bee and an iPod Shuffle that I gave to my mom instead because I already had an iPod Nano.

Anything coming up you're excited about?
- My first trip out of the country as an adult! Heading to Paris and London at the end of this month. Yay!

Anything coming up you're stressing over?
- Not soon, but I'm worried about my mom for when I do eventually move out, whether she will have enough finances to sustain herself or not. She feels like she can't live by herself and she doesn't want a stranger to come in to rent a room.

What are your thoughts on the world today?
- Based on lots of sociology classes and several documentaries, I've come to understand that the world could be virtually fixed with the abolition of money. Money is the motive behind almost all crimes and causes selfish, greedy and destructive behavior, influences politicians to make economic choices that are for the betterment of for-profit corporations rather than the general population, including damage to the environment, funding wars, education and medicine as a privilege instead of a basic human right, providing unhealthy foods for cheaper prices than healthy ones, and imprisonment over rehabilitation. It's amazing how much the world would change if everyone just loved everybody else, a global human family that takes care of each other and allows everyone to grow for the betterment of all.

Too much serious talk, tell a joke.
- A girl with a lisp walks into a pet store and scopes out a few of the cute little bunnies they have on display, and alerts a clerk nearby, "Can I hab one of da wabbits, pwease?" The clerk's heart melts at this adorable little girl and crouches down to her eye level. "Sure, sweetie. Which one do you like best, the white or the grey one?" The girl smiles at him, "I don't think my pet python weally gives a thit."

Haha, you so funny. What are you going to do after taking this survey?
- I'm gonna publish it on my blog and get my procrastinating ass back to work.
